We're working in partnership with a top-tier civil engineering contractor delivering high-profile schemes across the UK, with a strong presence in Canterbury and the surrounding areas. Due to continued growth and the award of several major frameworks, they're now seeking a confident, capable Site Agent to join their dynamic team.
🔍 About the Role:
You’ll play a pivotal role in the delivery of complex civil engineering schemes, particularly within the highways sector. As Site Agent, you’ll lead on-site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget. The role involves managing day-to-day site activities, liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, and driving performance on site.
✅ Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the daily site operations on highways and heavy civils schemes
*
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
*
Manage site documentation including RAMS, ITPs, and progress reporting
*
Liaise effectively with stakeholders, subcontractors, engineers, and senior management
*
Deliver works to specification while maintaining cost control and programme targets
*
Mentor and support junior staff and promote a strong team culture on site
🎯 Ideal Candidate:
*
Proven experience as a Site Agent or similar role within heavy civils and/or highways
*
Strong background with a main contractor on infrastructure or public realm projects
*
Excellent leadership and communication skills
*
SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), First Aid qualifications (desirable)
*
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts
