Commissioning Engineer – Energy & High Voltage Plant

Approach Personnel are thrilled to be supporting a renowned Energy Contractor to source an experienced Commissioning Engineer based in the Hertfordshire area. This role centres around helping to deliver hollistic testing and commissioning packages across various high voltage plant and equipment.

More about the Role:

This is a full time, permanent position based in Hertfordshire spending up to 4 days a week on local sites.

* Prepare detailed reports and claims within agreed deadlines

* Support commercial systems and foster strong internal relationships

* Monitor project risks while maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation

* Manage subcontractor procurement, assessments, and final account settlements

* Identify and manage contract variations, delays, and claims

* Drive improvements in commercial processes to boost efficiency

* Collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager and QS team

* Assist with financial reporting and cost recovery efforts

* Participate in project meetings and support project documentation

* Ensure compliance with company HSEQ policies and standards

What we are looking for:

* Proven track record in testing and commissioning high-voltage distribution networks.

* HNC/Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, demonstrating technical expertise and industry proficiency.

* Extensive experience in engineering policies, procedures, and legislation, ensuring compliance and best practices in all aspects of the role.

* Strong decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for identifying and optimizing processes to enhance operational efficiency.

* Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, adept at collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

* In-depth knowledge of current Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, ensuring safe and compliant operations.

* A team-oriented mindset, capable of working seamlessly with clients, designers, and on-site project staff.
