We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established contractor specialising in prime residential construction—from ultra high-end refurbishments of listed buildings to bespoke new build country homes. With a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous detail, they deliver projects for some of the most discerning private clients across London and the South East.
Due to a growing pipeline of prestigious tenders, they are seeking an Assistant Estimator to support their pre-construction team at head office.
The Role
*
Support the preparation of competitive tenders for luxury residential projects.
*
Produce accurate quantity take-offs, schedules of work, and bills of quantities.
*
Liaise with architects, PQS, and subcontractors during the bid process.
*
Assist in preparing for tender launches, mid-bid reviews, and adjudication meetings.
*
Analyse subcontractor quotes and contribute to cost planning.
*
Help collate handover documentation for the delivery team post-award.
*
Ensure all estimating duties are delivered to the highest quality and on time.
Requirements
*
HNC or Degree in Construction (or equivalent).
*
Experience in high-end residential construction—including refurbishments and listed buildings.
*
Confident using estimating tools such as ConQuest or Esti-Mate.
*
Proficient in Excel and producing BOQs to SMM7 or NRM2 standards.
*
Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, and communication skills.
*
Comfortable liaising with clients, architects, and consultants.
Package
*
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience.
*
23 days holiday + bank holidays.
*
4% employer pension contribution.
*
Office-based in Basingstoke with some flexibility around WFH.
