Interpersonnel Recruitment has been instructed to assist our client with the recruitment of a Facilities Technician to join their team.

In conjunction with the facilities/maintenance team, the Facilities Technician, will support manufacturing operations by ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and functionality of the plant's physical infrastructure and respond promptly to facility-related service requests, resolving issues efficiently to minimize disruption to production, ensuring compliance with all health and safety /regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Assisting and liaising with on-site contractors, ensuring thorough site induction and compliance with relevant health and safety/regulatory requirements.

* Attending site emergencies.

* Prioritising hazard reports, paying attention to health and safety.

* Assisting the maintenance team with fire alarm testing and appropriate recording.

* Resolving routine plumbing and drainage issues and escalating as and when appropriate.

* General site maintenance and upkeep including painting and decorating, and ensuring the building is presentable and in good order.

* Ensuring walkways are safe and in good order, dealing with any trip hazards and filling in any pot holes.

* Carrying out brickwork, carpentry and structural concreting as required.

* Installing and maintaining signage on site

* Maintaining accurate maintenance logs and service records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

* Supporting facility renovations, equipment relocations, and space reconfigurations.

* Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental guidelines.

* Monitoring facility systems for proper operation and report any irregularities to management.

* Working collaboratively with internal departments, Facilities Supervisor and external vendors/contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.

* Actively promotes health and safety and is an example of good practice

* Carrying out any other facilities/maintenance tasks as set by the Health & Safety Manager, Facilities Supervisor, Production Manager or Plant Manager/Director

Required skills, abilities, knowledge

* Educated to appropriate NVQ/QCF level in construction/maintenance related discipline

* At least 1 – 2 years experience in a similar role

* Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems

* Puts health and safety at the forefront of their work

* Trained and proficient in use of power tools

* Problem solving/trouble shooting

* Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck training desirable
