Senior Engineer

Role Overview:
Our client is recruiting a driven Senior Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of this £50m school project, commencing with a 2-year programme. The project features a concrete frame structure with a traditional brick facade, requiring careful integration of a Grade II listed building. Will be ambitious, technically proficient, and passionate about collaborating with subcontractors to ensure technical excellence and project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct precise setting out for the concrete frame, brick facade, and associated infrastructure, ensuring compliance with design and heritage specifications.
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure accurate execution of works, particularly for the Grade II listed building integration.
Support the Project Manager in planning, risk management, and technical coordination during the PCSA phase and throughout the project.
Liaise with clients, architects, and structural engineers to resolve technical queries and maintain project alignment.
Oversee quality assurance, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and heritage standards, with accurate as-built documentation.
Monitor site progress, proactively addressing technical challenges to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Person Specification:

Proven experience as a Senior Engineer, ideally with a Tier 1 contractor, with expertise in concrete frame and traditional brick facade projects.
Experience with heritage projects, particularly Grade II listed buildings, is highly desirable.
A Proactive and ambitious approach to delivering technical excellence.
Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with subcontractors and project teams.
Proficiency in setting out and surveying (e.g., Total Station, GPS) and managing technical construction processes.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with clients, designers, and site teams.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent) preferred.
Valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and ideally a Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
