Due to a significant new project award, they are actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Technical Services Manager to lead their night shift operations for approximately 30 weeks.

The Role:
As the Technical Services Manager (Night Shift), you will be instrumental in overseeing all Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) installations and technical aspects during critical night-time operations. This project, located in the bustling heart of the City of London, will require your expertise for approximately 30 weeks. Your typical working hours will be 7:00 PM – 2:00 AM or 3:00 AM, ensuring the efficient and safe progression of M&E services outside of standard working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all M&E services during the night shift, ensuring seamless integration and coordination with other trades.
Oversee and supervise M&E subcontractors, maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and adherence to the programme.
Act as the primary technical point of contact on site during night hours for all M&E-related queries and issues.
Conduct rigorous quality inspections of M&E installations, promptly identifying and resolving any defects or discrepancies.
Ensure all M&E works comply with design specifications, building regulations, and industry best practices.
Coordinate with the day shift team for effective handover and seamless continuity of work.
Proactively identify potential technical challenges and implement effective solutions to maintain project schedule.
Manage and monitor M&E related health and safety on site during your shift.
Attend and contribute to relevant site meetings as required, providing M&E updates.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven and extensive experience as a Technical Services Manager, M&E Manager, or M&E Site Manager within the fit-out sector, preferably with a Tier 1 contractor.
Strong and demonstrable technical understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical building services is essential.
Experience in managing and coordinating M&E subcontractors on complex commercial fit-out projects.
Ability to read, interpret, and challenge M&E drawings and specifications with precision.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions independently during the night shift.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective liaison with various stakeholders.
Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage a busy workload autonomously.
Willingness and proven ability to work consistent night shifts (typically 7:00 PM – 2:00 AM/3:00 AM).
Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related construction field.
Valid SMSTS certificate.
Valid CSCS card.
