Mechanical Project Engineer
Mane are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their client, a leading Engineering contractor to work on Life Science projects.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience within the Life Science or Data Centre sector.
Act as the primary liaison between key project stakeholders including the client's design team, main contractor, suppliers, and subcontractors to support all engineering requirements.
Review and interpret Design/IFC (Issued for Construction) specifications and drawings to ensure full understanding of the project scope.
Contribute to the coordination process by working with BIM teams to convert design intent into fully compliant installation drawings, aligned with project priorities.
Align engineering activities with the overall project schedule, supporting construction milestones and timelines (e.g., procurement and delivery planning).
Prepare and issue technical submittals; track approvals to ensure timely responses and workflow continuity.
Engage with vendors for technical consultations and propose value engineering solutions to optimize design and cost-efficiency.
Manage material procurement by utilizing Engineering Materials Reports (EMRs), including preparing take-offs, identifying lead times, and forecasting field usage rates.
Oversee equipment procurement and maintain delivery tracking to support site readiness.
3+ years' experience working with a recognized Mechanical/ contractor in process mechanical / pipework.
Excellent organizational and project planning skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Excellent negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Proficient in use of Navisworks and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
Experience with Project/Primavera planning software and CAD/BIM process.
