Senior Fabricator

Yourconstruction are delighted to be working with a Construction business with various Nationwide branches, they are looking for a Senior Fabricator for their workshop in Cumbernauld

Job Type: Full time, permanent

Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30, flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business

Remuneration: Competitive, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the warehouse, planning the jobs and outbound deliveries according to customer requirements

* Day to day supervision of Warehouse Operatives and drivers, ensuring customer orders and deliveries are completed in line with internal and external requirements

* Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security of the work environment

* Ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are carried out and up to date for all areas and activities in the warehouse and that tool box talks are carried out with the team

* Maintain the company’s tools and equipment efficiently, maintain a register and log any defects, arranging for repairs or replacement parts with the office and ensuring staff are competent to use them

* Liaise with internal colleagues and access project folders on the network to monitor the status of customer orders and deliveries

* Co-ordinate logistics with the Branch Manager regarding everything coming in and out of the warehouse

* Daily reporting on fabrication progress and estimated number of days required to complete etc.

* Support the team to produce customer orders accurately by fabricating the cladding panels to the required production drawings. This involves cutting and drilling.

* Pack and palletise the panels and fixing system components accurately and safely for transport to site

* Receive and store goods in the warehouse in a safe manner

* Ensure all consumable stock levels are maintained including critical spares and PPE equipment

* Carry out a quarterly stock take of all materials and consumables in the warehouse

* Booking and managing temporary labour and administering their timesheets

* Managing the team’s additional hours and approving holiday request forms

* Open and close the building/gates as required

* Any other reasonable requests as required

Person Specification

Essential:

* Previous experience in a similar role

* Ability to communicate at all levels – good written and verbal skills

* Previous warehouse experience using CNC machines and beam saws

* Forklift truck certificate (if expired this can be redone with Vivalda)

* Some flexibility in working hours may be required

* A positive team player, with demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with colleagues

* A ‘can-do’ attitude, looking for solutions rather than problems

* Professional attitude and the commitment to provide the highest standard of customer service

* Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office (excel, word) to a good standard

Desirable:

Experience in a construction or fabrication environment
