About the Role

We’re hiring a Client-Side Project Manager ready to step into an Associate Director-level position with one of the UK's most respected multidisciplinary consultancies.

You'll take the lead on delivering high-value regeneration, civic, heritage, and public realm projects typically ranging from £5m to £50m+. Most projects are located in Greater Manchester/North West Area and the West Midlands, with occasional regional travel.

This is a hands-on delivery role, ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, stakeholder engagement and full project lifecycle ownership from concept and feasibility through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the client-side delivery of complex construction projects across civic, regeneration and residential sectors.

*

Manage RIBA stage 0–7 processes, including consultant and contractor procurement.

*

Oversee pre-construction planning, cost control, and risk management.

*

Coordinate across design teams, JV partners and council/planning departments.

*

Provide strategic input on town centre master planning and regeneration initiatives.

*

Support business development and potentially further down the line mentor junior PMs.

What We’re Looking For

*

10+ years in a client-side or consultancy project management role or local authority (not contractor-side only)

*

Proven experience managing public sector construction schemes (town halls, civic buildings, heritage sites, public realm, urban regeneration)

*

Familiar with JCT, NEC, and Design & Build contracts

*

Skilled in stakeholder engagement and client-facing delivery

*

Based in or near the North West region, or willing to commute with hybrid working

Desirable Backgrounds

*

Former/Current PMs from small/mid-sized construction consultancies or local authorities

*

Experience working with local authorities, developers, or regeneration frameworks

*

Understanding of master planning, feasibility studies, and pre-construction delivery
