About the Role

On behalf of our client, we're seeking an experienced and detail-focused Electrical Estimator to join a busy pre-construction team working across a diverse range of commercial, public, and industrial projects across Kent & London.

You'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for projects including fit-outs, refurbishments, and new builds. This role requires a solid understanding of building services, electrical systems, and the tendering process, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, and internal teams.

Electrical Estimator

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical works across public health & commercial projects.
Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to assess project scope
Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotes to support accurate pricing
Liaise with design, mechanical, and construction teams for coordinated submissions
Identify value engineering opportunities and potential cost risks
Attend tender clarification meetings and site visits as needed
Assist in preparation of tender submissions and bid strategy
Maintain up-to-date records of estimating activity and pricing databases
Support handover to delivery teams post-award

What You'll Need

Proven experience as an electrical estimator, ideally within MEP or main contracting
Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and building services
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
Familiarity with current electrical regulations and installation practices
Good working knowledge of estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Estimation, or similar)
Strong numeracy, analytical, and organisational skills
Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
Electrical qualification/background (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent) preferred
