Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Structural Project Engineer to join a dynamic team based in Central London. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take ownership of projects and contribute to a broad portfolio of structural design work.

The successful candidate will have strong technical capabilities, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to work across a variety of structural materials and project types. Candidates should either be Chartered or working towards Chartership, with a minimum of three years' experience in a design office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion

*

Deliver conceptual and detailed designs across a range of materials, including reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and timber

*

Design steelwork connections and temporary works where required

*

Conduct site inspections and structural surveys

*

Produce sketches and mark-ups of structural details for CAD technicians

*

Prepare clear and concise engineering reports and correspondence

*

Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders

*

Maintain awareness of relevant codes, standards, and best practices

*

Be open to exploring new sectors and types of work

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a structural design office

*

Chartered (CEng / MIStructE) status or actively working towards it

*

Strong understanding of UK building codes and design standards

*

Proficiency in conceptual and detailed structural design

*

Ability to solve problems and make confident decisions

*

Excellent communication and report writing skills

*

A collaborative approach and the confidence to liaise with clients and other professionals
