Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is a leading provider of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) solutions, delivering high-quality services across commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to develop and deliver electrical design solutions across a range of projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing technical drawings, specifications, and calculations while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and client requirements.
Duties:
* Develop detailed electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, security, and other building services.
* Prepare single-line diagrams, load calculations, cable sizing, and circuit protection specifications.
* Produce and review technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other design software.
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., BS7671, IET Wiring Regulations).
* Liaise with clients, architects, other engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements.
* Attend design meetings, site surveys, and provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
* Coordinate with mechanical and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
* Contribute to the preparation of tender packages, specifications, and design reports.
* Ensure all documentation and designs are properly reviewed, signed off, and archived.

Requirements:
* Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical design within the construction or building services sector.
* Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations (BS7671) and building codes.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Amtech (Trimble), Dialux/Relux, and ideally Revit/BIM environments.
* Experience with medium and low voltage distribution systems, lighting, and small power layouts.
* Good understanding of CDM regulations and health & safety compliance
