Our client is a reputable and award-winning residential developer based in Lancashire, specialising in the delivery of high-quality affordable housing across the North West. Your new role
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of a range of affordable housing developments across the North West. Working as part of a forward-thinking team, you will play a pivotal role in cost planning, procurement, and financial control of multiple residential sites from pre-construction through to final account.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing all aspects of cost control from procurement to final account
Preparing cost plans, budgets, and bills of quantities
Procuring subcontractor packages, negotiating contracts and managing valuations
Monitoring project performance and reporting against financial forecasts
Liaising closely with site teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
Producing monthly cost reports and attending client meetings
Supporting value engineering and lifecycle cost planning
Ensuring compliance with funding requirements and contract obligations
Identifying and managing commercial risks on projects
Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal systems and procedures
What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential or affordable housing projects
Strong understanding of JCT contracts and cost management processes
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently while supporting wider project teams
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent)
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to regional sites
