Role Overview

They are looking to appoint a skilled and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor or Estimator with experience in passive fire protection. You will be responsible for tender preparation, cost planning, and commercial management across a portfolio of firestopping, fire door, and compartmentation projects. This is a key role within a growing commercial team, offering long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for PFP works.
Analyse technical drawings, specifications, and site surveys to develop accurate scopes of work.
Source competitive supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Liaise with site teams and clients throughout project delivery to ensure cost control and value optimisation.
Produce and manage valuations, applications for payment, and variations.
Maintain up-to-date commercial records and assist in monthly reporting.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator in passive fire protection, drylining, or specialist subcontracting.
Strong understanding of relevant UK fire safety standards and building regulations.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all commercial documentation.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient with MS Office and estimating software.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
