We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Planner with strong Primavera P6 skills and a solid background working with main contractors on large-scale construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules throughout all phases of construction, ensuring efficient delivery and programme compliance.
We’re working with a innovative contractor operating across London and the surrounding regions, delivering high-quality projects in sectors including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare. Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are now looking to appoint a Construction Planner to join their team.
✅ Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage fully resourced construction programmes using Primavera P6, in accordance with contract requirements.

Coordinate with project managers, design teams, site personnel, and subcontractors to gather input and ensure programme accuracy.
*
Produce baseline programmes, short-term look-ahead schedules, and recovery programmes as needed.
*
Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and recommend corrective actions.
*
Perform critical path analysis, risk identification, and schedule impact assessments.
*
Support site teams with regular progress updates, sequencing advice, and planning input during coordination meetings.
*
Assist with Extension of Time (EOT) claims, delay analysis, and forensic planning.
*
Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and narrative summaries for internal and client reporting.
*
Ensure integration of procurement, design, and construction activities into a unified programme.
*
Carry out site visits to verify progress and gather data for accurate updates.
👤 About You
*
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
*
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a planner with a main contractor or on complex construction projects.
*
Proven proficiency in Primavera P6; ability to build, update, and manage full project lifecycles.
*
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
*
Experience working on live construction sites and understanding of construction logistics.
*
Familiarity with contract types such as NEC, JCT, or FIDIC.
*
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
*
Competence in MS Office Suite; MS Project experience is a plus.
