Our client is seeking a dedicated Developer Contributions Team Leader to manage the S106 function within their Planning & Development service area. About the Role:
As the Team Leader for Developer Contributions, you will oversee the management of planning obligations and covenants. Your key responsibilities will include the collection and allocation of approximately £80 million in S106 funds, ensuring compliance with internal controls and governance, and optimising developer contributions to enhance infrastructure investment in the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of up to eight professional officers, providing guidance and support on project delivery and staff development.
Collaborate with other Team Leaders to maximise the effective use of developer contributions for infrastructure improvements.
Advocate for the Council in stakeholder forums, representing the authority as an expert on planning obligations.
Manage the financial administration of S106 funds, including reporting and reconciliation.
Develop policies and strategies to enhance service efficiency and compliance with planning obligations.
Conduct regular site visits to support team members and projects.To succeed in this role, you should possess:
Proven experience leading a team of professional officers in town planning, CIL, or infrastructure planning matters.
Strong knowledge of statutory instruments, case law, and financial management within a local government context.
Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
A relevant professional qualification (e.g., RTPI or RICS) or equivalent experience in a related field.Why Join Us?
