Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor with a background in Design & Build (D&B) projects to join their dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial management of residential and commercial schemes ranging from £700k to £6m, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and efficient contract administration from pre-construction through to final account.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing all cost-related aspects of construction projects from inception to completion

Preparing accurate cost plans, budgets, and tender documents for D&B projects

Performing risk, value management, and cost control

Monitoring project progress, forecasting costs, and managing variations

Preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and subcontractor payments

Attending regular project and site meetings to provide commercial support

Working closely with the site team and design consultants to ensure best value

Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures

Supporting procurement of subcontractors and materials

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager/Director

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on D&B projects (main contractor side)

Minimum of 4+ years' experience in a similar role within the UK construction industry

Strong understanding of JCT contracts and cost control systems

HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard QS software packages

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to regional sites
