Managing Quantity Surveyor
Managing Quantity Surveyor | Hertfordshire | Permanent | Up to £75,000 + Package
I'm working with a leading infrastructure contractor delivering critical energy, distribution and connections projects across the UK. They're now looking to appoint a Managing Quantity Surveyor to take a lead commercial role across a portfolio of schemes across the UK.
You'll be supporting the delivery of planned works, customer connections and network reinforcement projects as part of the transition to net zero. This is a great opportunity to step into a senior role within a supportive commercial team where you can add real value from day one.
Your responsibilities will include managing subcontractor accounts, reviewing applications and variations, ensuring robust cost control, and coaching QS team members on commercial procedures. You'll also be responsible for recovering contract costs, preparing financial reports, managing risk registers and identifying opportunities to improve commercial efficiency and margin.
To be considered, you'll need previous experience in a senior commercial role, ideally within utility, infrastructure, or power sectors. You'll be confident in NEC3 and NEC4 forms of contract (Options A, C and E) and experienced in subcontract management, valuations, and variation claims. A degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying is preferred, and a full UK driving licence is essential.
What's on offer includes: salary up to £80,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare and health cash plan, enhanced pension, discretionary annual bonus, EV salary sacrifice scheme, life assurance, retail discounts, and access to a 24/7 online GP and employee assistance programme.
If you're a commercially driven professional ready to lead a team and make a measurable impact on high-profile energy projects, I'd be happy to speak further – please apply or get in touch for more information
