Estimator/Quantity Surveyor
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This dual role is pivotal in ensuring the financial and technical success of our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, managing budgets, and ensuring project profitability while maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Estimator Duties
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out and refurbishment projects.
Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to understand project requirements.
Collaborate with the design and project management teams to develop cost-effective solutions.
Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
Develop tender submissions and present them to clients with clarity and professionalism.Quantity Surveyor Duties
Manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and within agreed parameters.
Prepare, review, and manage contracts and tender documentation.
Prepare tender documents and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
Conduct regular cost value reports to monitor project expenditure.
Identify and mitigate commercial risk.
Assess and manage variations, both subcontract and client.
Produce accurate and timely progress reports, forecasts, and final accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.Skills & Qualifications
Essential
Proven experience in estimating and quantity surveying, ideally within the interior fit-out or construction industry.
Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing.
Proficient in relevant software, such as estimating tools, spreadsheets, and project management platforms.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Good knowledge of JCT and NEC Contracts
