TEXO Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a specialist Principal Contractor and Principal Designer delivering recladding and façade remediation projects as part of the UK Building Safety Unit framework. With a focus on safety, technical delivery, and innovation, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor working with tier-one housing associations across London and the South East.
Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Junior Estimator (or Assistant Estimator with some cladding experience) to support the pricing and tendering of high-profile recladding and façade refurbishment projects. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their estimating career who is looking to develop specialist expertise in a fast-growing sector, while being supported by an experienced commercial team.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost estimates and pricing documents for cladding and façade packages

Conduct quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings
*
Help review and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations
*
Identify basic commercial risks and opportunities under guidance
*
Support the preparation of tenders in line with framework and client requirements
*
Attend site visits and meetings to build understanding of project scope
*
Maintain and update pricing data, libraries, and historical cost records
*
Contribute to internal value engineering and cost review discussions
What We’re Looking For
*
1–3 years of experience in construction estimating, ideally with exposure to cladding, façades, or external envelope works
*
Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings and tender documents
*
Strong Excel skills; familiarity with digital take-off software is a plus (Bluebeam or similar)
*
A proactive mindset, with good attention to detail and a willingness to learn
*
Excellent communication skills and ability to work to deadlines
*
Enthusiasm for developing a long-term career within a specialist contractor
Desirable
*
HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
*
Awareness of UK building safety legislation and façade remediation standards
*
Experience working with housing associations or public-sector frameworks
