Building Surveyor
Leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with a strong presence across the South East, is seeking an experienced and Chartered Senior Building Surveyor to join their office.

The Senior Building Surveyor's Role
The successful Senior Building Surveyor will take ownership of a range of building surveying commissions, providing expert advice across both public and private sector projects. From condition surveys and party wall matters to defect diagnosis and contract administration, this is a varied and technically engaging role. You'll also contribute to the mentoring and development of junior staff and play a key part in client relationship management.
Typical responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing multiple building surveying projects from inception to completion
Producing detailed reports, schedules, drawings, and contract documentation
Advising clients on defects, maintenance, repair, and statutory compliance
Engaging in business development and helping to secure future pipeline
Supporting and mentoring graduate and assistant surveyors
Ensuring compliance with H&S and environmental regulations
The Successful Senior Building Surveyor Will Have:
Qualifications:
Degree in Building Surveying or related field
MRICS status or significant progress toward chartership
Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle
Knowledge & Experience:
Strong understanding of building pathology and construction contracts
Experience delivering pre- and post-contract services
Knowledge of the Party Wall etc. Act 1996
Familiarity with JCT contracts and lifecycle project delivery
Experience with Retrofit and Fire Safety remediation is desirable
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong client-facing skills and commercial awareness
Confident mentoring junior surveyors
Proficient in MS Office and industry-standard tools

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
