Reports To: Construction Manager
Working Hours: 07:30 – 17:30

Role Summary

Seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of civil engineering projects for the local authority. Works include footpath and carriageway improvements, drainage, surface treatments, traffic signals, and structural repairs. The role requires managing live highway sites with a strong focus on safety, quality, and budget control.

Key Responsibilities

Manage site operations to meet programme and budget targets

Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, CDM regulations, and all standards

Communicate effectively with the public, local authorities, and stakeholders

Review and interpret project documentation and contract requirements (NEC4)

Monitor quality through inspections and testing procedures

Administer change control processes including early warnings and compensation events

Skills & Qualifications

HNC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering

SMSTS, NRSWA Supervisor, NEBOSH (General & Construction)

Temporary works experience

Strong leadership and communication skills

IT proficiency (MS Office and order systems)

Experience with managing both direct staff and contractors

Full clean driving licence
