DESIGN MANAGER – NORFOLK (TIER 1 OPPORTUNITY!)

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Design Manager you will be a valuable part of the business, driving quality outcomes, enhancing buildability and fostering innovation. As Design Manager you will work collaboratively with industry specialists and in-house technical experts to ensure that the design develops in accordance with the brief with a firm focus on added value, compliance, commercial viability, and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with all relevant parties, to produce and manage a realistic design programme and information required schedule to facilitate design, procurement and construction activities
* Manage the production of the Contractors proposals, clearly and cohesively for review by the bid team, and provide updates to include all post tender negotiations.
* Assist the Senior Design Manager on the production of specific designer agreements, scope of services and design management plans.
* Support the implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives and innovation
* Oversee the integration of fire safety improvements and compliance into design development
* Ensure the design has been reviewed and verified to achieve compliance and mitigate Health and Safety, design and buildability issues prior to construction and identify key risks and opportunities at each stage of the design and delivery process.
* Manage and report on design and designer process, quality and performance.
* Provide input into the design team performance and development reviews.
To be considered for this role you must have:
* Good written and verbal communication skills with a positive, passionate and engaging approach when supporting and educating the business
* Familiar with planning techniques, procurement and management systems, risk management, life cycle cost and value creation
* Experienced in the development and implementation of design management tools and procedure.
* Experienced of leading and motivating a team
* Experience of Fire Safety Improvements highly desirable
* Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCad or similar
