Role Overview

PDS are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Estimator to join their pre-construction team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background in hospitality fit-out estimating who is passionate about producing competitive and accurate cost plans and tenders for projects across the UK. You will play a key role in winning work and setting projects up for success from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects within the pubs, clubs, and restaurant sectors.
Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive quotations.
Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather accurate pricing information.
Produce bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and tender submissions.
Identify and assess project risks, providing input into risk mitigation strategies.
Work closely with the Business Development and Project Management teams to ensure tenders align with company capabilities and client expectations.
Maintain and update a library of pricing data and supplier information.
Attend site visits, tender interviews, and pre-start meetings where required.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years' experience in an Estimating role within the hospitality fit-out sector, ideally pubs, clubs, or restaurant environments.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and cost planning.
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and commercial acumen.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar is desirable but not essential.
