Senior Civil Engineer / Technician

About the Role:

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering infrastructure designs from concept through to construction. Responsibilities will include drainage and highway design, flood risk assessments, and the development of earthworks strategies, with support from a wider team of engineers and technicians throughout all project phases.

This role is ideally suited to someone seeking to take greater ownership of technical outputs, while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Responsibilities:

* Manage and deliver civil engineering inputs across a variety of development projects

* Lead on drainage and highway design, including sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and Flood Risk Assessments

* Prepare detailed drawings, design calculations, and technical reports

* Liaise with clients, design teams, and local authorities to progress planning and technical approvals

* Support team development by guiding junior members and collaborating with peers

* Ensure all designs align with UK planning and regulatory standards

Requirements:

* Minimum of two years’ relevant experience within a consultancy environment.

* Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering (BEng, MEng, MSc, HND, or HNC).

* Strong grasp of UK design standards and planning procedures

* Proficient in industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, MicroDrainage/Flow, Causeway, Civil 3D, and AutoTrack

* Previous work with residential developers is an advantage

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Ability to manage technical matters independently and support wider project delivery

* UK driving licence is desirable
