An industry-leading MEP contractor is currently seeking a proven Mechanical Construction Manager to lead on-site delivery for a flagship commercial project in Central London.
This is a key leadership role focused on the coordination, supervision, and execution of all mechanical services works. The successful candidate will bring strong technical experience, a proactive leadership style, and a track record of delivering complex projects to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Project Manager with day-to-day on-site operations and workforce supervision.
* Take full responsibility for health, safety, and wellbeing of all mechanical works personnel and subcontractors.
* Enforce the highest standards of installation quality, safety, and compliance across all mechanical activities.
* Manage on-site labour resources to ensure efficient productivity and timely delivery of scope.
* Oversee mechanical subcontractor coordination, progress tracking, and on-site issue resolution.
* Procure materials and tools using internal systems to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
* Assist with system commissioning, sign-off, and handover procedures to client satisfaction.
* Act as a mentor for apprentices and junior operatives, ensuring adherence to training and performance objectives.
* Record and report all incidents, safety observations, and non-conformances through appropriate channels.
Candidate Requirements:
* Mechanical trade background or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a construction management role on large-scale mechanical projects.
* Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, pipework, LTHW/CHW, domestic services).
* Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
* Demonstrable ability to lead people and maintain high morale and productivity on site.
* Comfortable using project reporting tools and procurement platforms.
* Committed to fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
