Section Engineer

Anderselite are working with tier 1 contractors who are working in joint venture and seeking a Section Engineer on a freelance/contract basis.

Location West Ruislip
Rate £450 to £525 per day (inside IR35).

Duration – 6-12 months 

Key Skills
Network Rail interface, sheet piling, soil anchors, drainage, sub contractor management and QA

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide engineering support for ongoing sheet piling activities.
– Assist site engineers with technical queries and workload management.
– Prepare Health & Safety documentation (RAMS/WPPs, TBS, Permits).
– Ensure SSOW (Safe Systems of Works) are in place, including Permit to Dig and Temporary Works.
– Act as Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS): review designs and ensure compliance with standards.
– Assess constructability of upcoming permanent works.
– Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure timely submission and implementation of:
– Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS)
– Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
– Permits and consents
– Engagement with support functions such as: Community Relations, Utilities, and Logistics.
– Ensure all quality checks are completed, documented, and submitted in line with progressive Quality Assurance.
– Prepare and present the 6-week lookahead programme to the client and senior management.
– Manage the supply chain to ensure delivery in compliance with Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
– Perform additional duties as required.

Desirable Experience:
– Experience working with Network Rail and understanding of NR standards.
