Company Overview

Our client is a well-established contractor with a strong presence across the Northwest, delivering high-quality public sector and education-based construction projects. With a growing project pipeline and upcoming works scheduled, they are seeking a dedicated Site Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Role Overview

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations, initially managing a refurbishment project on a school. You will oversee the delivery of works across sectors including education (schools, universities, laboratories), public-sector residential (multi-room), and new build schemes.

Key Responsibilities

Manage on-site activities to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of projects

Coordinate subcontractors and direct trades

Work closely with project leadership, reporting to the Contracts Manager

Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures and project specifications

Deliver refurbishment, new build, and fit-out works across project values of £1m-£5m

Maintain detailed site records, progress updates, and attend client meetings

Key Requirements

Proven experience managing education construction projects, including refurbishment of schools, universities, and laboratories

Experience with multi-room residential and new build public sector projects

Civils and fit-out background essential

Trade background required – joinery preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and organisation skills

Flexibility to work across the Northwest as required

Qualifications & Certifications

Valid CSCS card

SMSTS certification

First Aid at Work certification

Enhanced DBS preferred (especially for education sites)
