Location: Essex (with travel across the South East)
Salary: £50 – £60k, depending on experience Plus Car allowance
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of projects from pre-construction through to final account. This role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to work in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects

*

Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports

*

Lead on procurement and subcontractor management

*

Handle valuations, variations, and final account processes

*

Monitor costs and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle

*

Contribute to project meetings and liaise with stakeholders

*

Mentor junior team members and support their development

*

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal processes

Ideal Candidate Profile

*

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar

*

At least 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role

*

Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT

*

Confident managing projects across various sectors

*

Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

*

Proficient with Excel and other commercial tools

*

Holds a full UK driving licence
