Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join a dynamic construction team specialising in civil engineering and groundworks projects across London. This is a key role, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on active sites and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the construction industry, particularly within civils or groundworks, and be confident in advising site teams, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and enforce health and safety standards on construction and groundwork sites across London.

Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with legislation and internal procedures.
*
Provide clear and practical HSE advice to project and site teams.
*
Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
*
Develop and deliver toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.
*
Assist in the preparation and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
*
Maintain accurate records of site inspections, training, incidents, and compliance documentation.
*
Liaise with external bodies such as the HSE, clients, and subcontractors on all H&S matters.
*
Support the implementation and improvement of the company’s HSEQ management systems.
Requirements
*
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (minimum).
*
Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (Tech IOSH or working towards Grad IOSH preferred).
*
Proven experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction industry, ideally with exposure to civil engineering or groundworks.
*
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
*
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work with site teams and senior management.
*
Full UK driving licence (travel to multiple sites may be required).
