About the Role:
My client, a well-established and respected construction company, is currently looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong estimating background who is ready to step into a leadership role, or someone senior or in managing an estimating function and looking for a new challenge.
The successful candidate will be responsible for both preparing tenders and managing a team of estimators. You’ll play a key role in driving the estimating function forward and ensuring the delivery of accurate, competitive, and commercially viable bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, support, and develop the estimating team to ensure high standards and performance
Take ownership of tender submissions from initial enquiry through to submission
Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to produce detailed cost estimates
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information
Identify potential risks and opportunities within tenders and communicate these effectively
Ensure all estimates are submitted in line with company processes and deadlines
Work closely with commercial and operational teams to align bid strategy with delivery capability
Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership
What My Client Is Looking For:
Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager in the construction sector
Strong technical knowledge of construction processes and pricing
A track record of managing or mentoring teams
Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills
Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office
A proactive and collaborative approach to work
Desirable:
Formal construction-related qualifications
Experience across a range of project types and values
