Quantity Surveyor – Glasgow
Location: Glasgow

First Task are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction business based in Glasgow.

This company has been delivering high-quality commercial and industrial projects since 1999. With a strong focus on completing jobs on time and within budget, they’re known for their detailed planning, clear communication, and commitment to high standards. Holding accreditations such as Gold Constructionline and SSIP, the business prides itself on delivering quality results across the board.

Role Overview
This is a full-time, permanent role. The successful candidate will take ownership of financial elements across a range of projects, helping ensure everything runs smoothly from initial planning through to final handover.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparing and managing Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

* Overseeing cost control and ensuring budgets are met

* Producing detailed cost plans and regular cost reports

* Supporting project teams with commercial input throughout the build process

* Analysing risks and forecasting potential cost issues

* Ensuring compliance with construction contracts and regulations

* Assisting with procurement and tender processes as needed

What We’re Looking For

* Solid experience in cost control, cost planning, and cost reporting

* Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation

* Familiarity with quantity surveying tools and software

* Good understanding of construction contracts and industry regulations

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* A detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical ability

* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
