Job Opportunity: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant
Location: To ensure a convenient commute to the Client's main office, candidates should ideally be located in or around the following areas: Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Leicester, Cannock, Derby, Chesterfield, Nottingham, Sheffield, or Doncaster. (Please note that while the office is central, the Client's projects can span across the UK)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Flexible Hybrid Working and flexible hours Available)
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 + Benefits
About the Role
Are you a seasoned consultancy-led Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to make a real impact? This is a rare opportunity to join an innovative, multi-disciplinary management consultancy that delivers full project solutions from concept to completion.
In this role, you’ll join a highly collaborative team, working closely with clients to manage a variety of projects ranging from £100k to £100m. You'll gain hands-on experience in all stages of project delivery, collaborating with an in-house architectural team and external design partners. What You’ll Do
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll:
* Conduct feasibility studies and provide early cost advice.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
* Offer procurement and contractual advice.
* Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate project costing.
* Manage contractor selection, tendering, and analysis.
* Oversee cost control, change management, and financial reporting.
* Perform Employers Agent and Contract Administrator duties (desirable but not essential).
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
* Extensive experience in consultancy-based Quantity Surveying.
* Strong expertise in pre- and post-contract works, including cost estimating, tendering, and financial reporting.
* Familiarity with JCT forms of contract (NEC experience is desirable).
* Excellent client-facing delivery and project management skills.
* A relevant degree (RICS chartership is preferred but not essential).
* Exceptional communication, organisation, and teamwork abilities.
* This is not a junior role, and candidates should bring a wealth of experience to manage high-value and complex projects.
