Document Controller – Somerset

Avolon M&E currently have an exciting opportunity with a Tier 1 contractor for an experienced Document Controller to join their team in Somerset.

Our client is leading on a major project with an expected remaining duration of 4 years.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

Employment type: Full-time with permanent or long-term contract options available, depending on the individual.

The position:

As a Document Controller, you will play a key role in managing the flow of documentation across a major project. You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate version control, maintaining compliance with project protocols, and supporting the wider site and commercial teams with day-to-day document management.

This is a large, dynamic project working for a reputable Tier 1 contractor and as such our client is looking for someone who can start immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the distribution, tracking, and storage of project documents using electronic document management systems (EDMS).

* Maintain up-to-date records of all incoming and outgoing documents.

* Ensure document control protocols are adhered to in line with company and client requirements.

* Liaise with engineers, site managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure documentation is complete and up to date.

* Assist in preparing and issuing technical documentation such as drawings, reports, RFIs, and specifications.

* Support quality assurance checks and audits related to documentation.

* Provide admin support to the site/project team where necessary.

Requirements:

* Previous experience as a Document Controller in construction or a related industry.

* Familiarity with EDMS platforms such as Viewpoint, Asite, Aconex, or similar.

* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to file management.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

* Strong organisational and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
