Estimator
Company:
A respected regional building contractor with a rich history of delivering new build and refurbishment projects across central and southern England is searching for an Estimator.
Their projects range from commercial, education, healthcare and industrial. The value of contracts ranges from £300,000 to over £5 million.
Role:
As an Estimator you will form part of a key Estimating team responsible for supporting the commercial input across a large portfolio including small works to their main works side which typically include hi-end one off housing, listed builds, education, healthcare projects including D & B.
You will be required to prepare tenders for a full range of works, from small to major works on commercial projects.
To ensure the estimating function provides a full commercial contribution to the organisation.
Estimate the costs for tenders.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
Support value engineering.
Take off and build up own rates and prices.
Support the process of assessing, preparing (including post-tender activities), validating, adjudication and final submission of tenders on time and to the required quality.
You will be working under a lead estimator however working on own projects and being at a self sufficient level.
To further support the commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors during the tender and processes. In particular to: build and maintain a portfolio of suppliers and subcontracts to support the tendering process and where applicable obtain 'Bills of Quantities' identify and coordinate suppliers and sub contractors
You:
Appropriate academic and construction qualifications, detailed knowledge of construction in both new and refurbishment work.
The candidate must be able to confidently communicate with all members of the pre-construction team, directors, clients and consultants and importantly be able to work to strict deadlines.
