Senior Planner – Civil Engineering
Stand alone P6 planning professional with experience of working on large civil engineering projects, required to join a rapidly growing company based in Essex.
This opportunity will see you work for a people focused company who pride themselves on innovative project delivery solutions. As Senior Planner you will work closely with the project team in supporting the delivery of a £multi-billion programme.

Key Responsibilities:
Create, update, and manage integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
Deliver 4D schedules using tools like Synchro.
Perform DCMA 14-Point Assessments to ensure schedule quality and robustness.
Monitor progress against key milestones and report on schedule performance with variance analysis.
Work collaboratively with project teams to refine phasing, sequencing, and programme risks.
Support planning assurance and programme controls in alignment with governance frameworks.
Engage with stakeholders across engineering, commercial, design, and delivery.
Contribute to schedule impact assessments, including "what-if" analysis and mitigation strategies.
Interface with third-party stakeholders including statutory undertakers and utility companies.
Integrate and monitor utility diversions programming in line with the C2-C9 process, supporting accurate planning of preliminary and detailed design, noticing, and construction stages.
Apply a working knowledge of NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) to ensure planning assumptions are compliant with permitting and noticing requirements.
Job Requirements:
Experience in project planning, particularly within the construction sector.
Strong proficiency in Primavera P6.
Experience working on highways or utilities projects.
Proficiency in 4D planning and schedule assurance tools such as the DCMA 14-Point Check.
Awareness of utility planning practices, including the statutory undertaker engagement process (C2-C9).
Sound understanding of NRSWA legislation and its implications for project programming.
Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail and strong reporting skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and schedule visualisation tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
