About the Role:
My client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager from a construction background to join our team on a flagship construction project in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering one of the region’s most high-profile developments while ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage all Health & Safety aspects of the project, ensuring full compliance with current legislation and company standards.

* Carry out regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.

* Develop and implement site-specific H&S plans, risk assessments, and method statements.

* Act as the primary point of contact for all H&S matters on site.

* Liaise with site teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to promote a positive safety culture.

* Deliver toolbox talks and safety training sessions as required.

* Maintain accurate records and reports of all safety activities, incidents, and inspections.

Requirements:

* NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or higher) is essential.

* Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager or Advisor role on large construction projects.

* In-depth knowledge of UK H&S legislation and construction best practices.

* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

* Ability to influence and engage with teams at all levels.

Desirable:

* Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or higher).

* Experience with large civil or infrastructure projects.

* First Aid at Work qualification.
