Quality Technical Inspector

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Technical Inspector to join a reputable multi-disciplinary consultancy operating across the built environment. This is a home-based role covering Greater London and the Eastern Home Counties, where the Quality Technical Inspector will work on a broad range of projects including residential, commercial, education, blue light, and healthcare.

The Quality Technical Inspector position is ideal for a detail-focused professional looking to apply their expertise across both new build and refurbishment projects. The Quality Technical Inspector will play a crucial part in ensuring construction work meets design specifications, contractual requirements, and high-quality standards. This role also provides a chance for the Quality Technical Inspector to build lasting relationships across site teams, consultants, and clients while advancing their career within a supportive and professional environment.

The Quality Technical Inspector's role

The Quality Technical Inspector will carry out regular inspections of live construction sites to assess the quality and progress of works. You will verify compliance with design documentation, Employer's Requirements, contractual specifications, and warranty provider standards. Responsibilities also include producing detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence and liaising with site teams to ensure quality expectations are met.

Your work may also involve visiting manufacturing facilities to assess off-site construction quality. Experience in both new build and refurbishment is essential, as is the ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.

The Quality Technical Inspector

To succeed as a Quality Technical Inspector, you should have:

MICWCI, MCIOB or equivalent professional membership

Sound knowledge of building construction and inspection procedures

Strong communication and reporting skills (written and verbal)

Ability to organise your own workload and manage deadlines

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (Excel desirable)

Qualifications or experience in fire safety or façade inspections are beneficial but not essential
