Planner – Glasgow – Up to £60,000 DOE + Car / Allowance + Excellent Bonus
First Task Professional are delighted to be working alongside a contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects across multiple sectors throughout the UK.
Due to recent framework wins, they are gearing up to deliver 6 substation upgrades, 3 OHL diversions and 1 new build OHL route and as such are looking to build their team from the front end with both a Planner and a Senior Planner to work on these early-stage projects. They have a 5 year pipeline of projects for this individual framework alone with further awards on the horizon.
Responsibilities
* Develop and manage detailed P6 programmes across all project phases.
* Review drawings, perform material take-offs, and calculate activity durations.
* Integrate subcontractor programmes with internal schedules.
* Produce and update programmes, narratives, and dashboards to meet deadlines.
* Support pre-contract, operational, and commercial teams with planning input.
* Translate civil construction methods into programme logic.
* Lead collaborative planning sessions and communicate plans to stakeholders.
* Manage change events in line with NEC contracts, supporting entitlement claims.
* Provide lookahead schedules to operational teams.
Requirements
* HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering/Construction.
* Operational experience as Section Engineer/Sub-Agent preferred.
* Essential: Planning experience with a main contractor; proficiency in P6 and MS Project.
* Preferred: Energy sector background; time chainage software; Power BI experience.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and change management process.
* Self-managing and proactive with strong communication skills.
