Job Title: Chartered Building Surveyor
Location: Central London (Waterloo, SE1)
Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

A dynamic and expanding building consultancy based in Central London is seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a close-knit and energetic team. The firm works across a portfolio of prestigious residential and commercial properties, primarily located in and around Central London. This role offers a great opportunity for a recently qualified surveyor to progress their career in a forward-thinking, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Act as lead surveyor on a range of project commissions including:

* Contract administration (project values up to £3.5m+VAT)

* Insurance reinstatement projects

* Planned maintenance surveys

* Condition surveys and defect diagnosis

* Design and specification of maintenance works

* Pre-acquisition surveys

* Reinstatement Cost Assessments

* Licence for Alterations

* Party Wall matters

* Project Management and Employer’s Agent duties

* Manage client relationships and ensure high levels of service delivery

* Assist with the development of new business opportunities

* Provide guidance and mentorship to graduates and junior team members

* Contribute to team management and project coordination

Candidate Requirements

* MRICS qualified with a minimum of 6 months post-qualification experience

* Broad experience in building surveying services (residential experience is advantageous)

* Strong initiative and ability to independently manage multiple commissions

* Commercial awareness and ability to meet fee targets

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Ability to lead or supervise junior staff as required

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CAD and project management platforms is beneficial

* Strong knowledge of construction practices and basic building services

* Clean driving licence preferred but not essential

* Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD)
