Business Development Manager

The Role:
As Business Development Manager, you’ll take a leading role in identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities by engaging directly with main contractors, architects, consultants and end-clients. You’ll inherit an extensive portfolio of warm relationships across the sector and be tasked with nurturing and growing these accounts, while also actively seeking out new prospects. Working closely with internal delivery teams, you’ll act as the face of the business in driving pre-construction engagement and pipeline development across the UK and internationally.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage relationships with main contractors, architects, consultants and end-clients to uncover tender opportunities.
* Maximise a wide base of existing warm contacts and further grow the company’s market presence.
* Collaborate closely with estimating and delivery teams to ensure a seamless pre-construction handover.
* Attend client meetings across the UK, and internationally as the business expands its footprint.
* Maintain accurate records of business development activity and produce regular reports for senior leadership.
* Represent the company at industry events, networking sessions and exhibitions.
* Work independently and proactively to achieve ambitious growth targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
* A proven track record in a business development or sales role within the construction industry.
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and convert new business opportunities.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
* Experience engaging with clients across multiple sectors and levels of seniority.
* Based in Essex or within easy reach of North Essex – the company’s head office.
* Willingness to travel nationally and, on occasion, internationally.
* Full UK driving licence.
