Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum (starting on a day rate)
The role & about the client:
ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a respected Guildford-based construction company with over 30 years’ experience specialising in the restoration, renovation, and extension of period properties across Surrey, Hampshire, and South West London.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract, starting on a day rate, with the potential for a permanent position and fast-tracked career progression for the right candidate. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality residential projects, working with a company that values craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Oversee day-to-day operations on high-end residential renovation and extension sites
*
Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and direct labour to maintain schedules
*
Ensure compliance with current health, safety, and environmental legislation
*
Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
*
Monitor project progress, budgets, and ensure work meets design and quality standards
*
Uphold site organisation, cleanliness, and safety at all times
*
Deliver projects to time, budget, and exceptional finish
The ideal candidate will have/be:
*
Demonstrated experience as a Site Manager in residential refurbishments and extensions
*
Strong knowledge of traditional building techniques and working with period properties
*
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualified (or equivalent)
*
Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills
*
Highly organised with a strong eye for detail and a proactive approach
*
Able to work independently and take ownership of project delivery
*
Ambitious and open to progressing within a growing business
