The Role & About the Client:

ITS Building People are working on behalf of a well-established contractor specialising in commercial refurbishment projects within the education sector. We are currently recruiting for a proactive and hands-on Assistant Site Manager to support the successful delivery of high-quality refurbishment works across schools in the Woking area.

This is a great opportunity for someone with solid site experience looking to step up or further their career in construction site management.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of refurbishment sites

*

Supervise site teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient and safe project delivery

*

Assist in scheduling, planning, and coordinating site activities

*

Maintain health & safety standards, particularly within live school environments

*

Liaise with school representatives, site staff, and project stakeholders

*

Monitor progress, carry out quality checks, and report any issues to senior management

Requirements:

*

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a site-based supervisory or assistant management role

*

Experience in commercial refurbishments, ideally within occupied or live environments (e.g., schools, offices, healthcare)

*

Valid CSCS card and SSSTS certification (essential)

*

Enhanced DBS check (desirable or willingness to obtain)

*

Strong communication, organisational, and team coordination skills

*

A proactive approach with a commitment to delivering high standards
