Salary details: £50,000 – £65,000 DoE + Package

They are seeking a driven and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team and contribute to their continued success.
Job description
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards, while maintaining strong relationships with the construction team, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Management:
* Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
* Monitor and control project expenditure, identifying and reporting any variances.
* Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises.
* Measure and value work completed on site.
* Prepare and submit monthly cost reports and financial statements.
* Contract Management:
* Prepare and review contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and schedules.
* Administer and manage contract variations, ensuring all changes are properly documented and valued.
* Negotiate and agree on contract terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and mitigate any potential risks.
* Procurement:
* Prepare and issue tender documents, including invitations to tender and pre-qualification questionnaires.
* Evaluate and analyse tender submissions, providing recommendations for contractor selection.
* Manage the procurement of materials and subcontractors, ensuring best value for money.
* Risk Management:
* Identify and assess potential risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
* Monitor and report on project risks, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
* Client Liaison:
* Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
* Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
* Address any client concerns or queries promptly and professionally.
* Final Accounts:
* Prepare and agree on final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
* Ensure all costs are accurately recorded and accounted for.
* Resolve any outstanding financial issues or disputes.
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
Essential Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on similar projects.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Strong understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and cost management tools.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience working for a Main Contractor with project values between £1m-35m.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Must be willing to work within Norwich and surrounding areas.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Requirements:
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Valid CSCS card (Professionally / Academically Qualified Person or equivalent).
• Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or other relevant professional body.
• Experience in residential, commercial, or public sector projects.
• Knowledge of local suppliers and subcontractors in the Norwich area.
