An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a leading main contractor delivering a capital delivery framework for Anglian Water. Based from their office in Peterborough and working on sites across Cambridgeshire, the Lead Mechanical Engineer will be supporting my client as they gear up for AMP8.

As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be the technical cornerstone for a team dedicated to non-infrastructure water and water recycling projects. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding design integrity, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and legislation, and championing solutions that prioritize efficiency and environmental responsibility. You will play a pivotal role in delivering ambitious targets and fostering a culture of innovation.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

Providing expert technical guidance and leadership to mechanical engineering professionals.
Upholding the highest standards of design quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborating extensively with diverse stakeholders to ensure project success across all parameters: time, budget, and quality.
Driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies to elevate project outcomes.
Nurturing and developing emerging engineering talent, providing mentorship and career pathway support.
Scrutinizing design outputs for precision, safety, and alignment with established benchmarks.
Contributing strategic insights to construction design management and commissioning processes.
Championing sustainable practices and exploring advanced modular construction techniques.
Facilitating knowledge exchange and integrating lessons learned into ongoing operations.
Ensuring project designs are cost-effective, delivered promptly, environmentally conscious, and meet all contractual obligations.
Who We're Looking For:

A degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with a robust background in the field, ideally with experience in the water industry.
A proven leader with a demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and empower junior engineers.
Deep understanding of industry regulations, best practices, and technical standards.
Proficiency with design software and essential engineering tools.
Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
A decisive individual capable of sound judgement, impact assessment, and collaborative decision-making.
An individual who operates with unwavering integrity, respect for colleagues, and a commitment to timely delivery.
