My Client has grown into one of the most reputable building firms across Hampshire and Dorset. We specialise in bespoke new homes, high-end refurbishments, and select commercial developments. With a strong track record of delivering architect-led projects to an exceptional standard, our work is built on trust, precision, and professionalism.

We are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our senior management team at our award-winning offices near Lymington, Hampshire. This is a key role offering full involvement in the financial control of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

About the Role

As QS, you will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of multiple live projects, working closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors. You will manage the procurement process, valuations, reporting, and change control, ensuring the financial health and performance of each project.

We are looking for someone who combines strong commercial acumen with attention to detail and a collaborative approach. You’ll have experience across a range of sectors, ideally including bespoke residential, and will take pride in your ability to deliver accurate, timely reporting and effective cost control.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the commercial and financial elements of construction projects from inception to completion.

* Prepare and issue accurate and timely contract notices for payments, delays, variations, and instructions.

* Lead the procurement of subcontractor packages, including tendering, evaluation, and appointment.

* Procure materials and monitor cost against budget allowances.

* Manage client valuations and variation accounts.

* Prepare and maintain cost value reconciliations and internal cost reports for senior management.

* Attend project meetings and provide regular financial updates to clients and internal teams.

* Support early-stage cost planning and value engineering alongside the estimator and design team.

* Collaborate closely with the site and project management teams to support the delivery of projects to programme and budget.

The Right Person Will Have:

* A strong understanding of cost control, contracts, and procurement in the construction industry.

* Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

* The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

* Good working knowledge of construction methods and an appreciation of design-led, bespoke builds.

* A proactive and organised approach with a desire to take full commercial ownership of your projects.

Essential Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the high-end residential, commercial, or educational sectors.

* Track record managing projects from early-stage procurement through to final account.

* Good knowledge of JCT contracts and experience in contract administration.

* Familiarity with CDM Regulations and Building Regulations.

* Excellent IT skills, including strong Excel knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

* Full UK driving license
