My client has grown into one of the most reputable building firms across Hampshire and Dorset. We specialise in bespoke new homes, high-end refurbishments, and select commercial developments. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our senior management team, based at our award-winning offices near Lymington, Hampshire. You will play a pivotal role in the planning, delivery, and commercial oversight of multiple projects, ensuring the successful coordination of people, design, and construction from pre-construction through to handover.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle: from early procurement and design management through to delivery on site. You will take a proactive approach to contracts, cost control, and programme while maintaining strong communication with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.

We are seeking someone who brings both a structured approach and excellent interpersonal skills – a problem-solver who takes pride in high standards and smooth delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the planning and coordination of construction projects from conception to completion.

* Oversee contract administration, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions; prepare and issue formal notices for payments, delays, instructions, and change control.

* Work closely with the QS to review project costs, valuations, and forecasts.

* Appoint subcontractors and suppliers, and maintain strong working relationships between all parties.

* Monitor project performance to ensure delivery on time, to specification, and within budget.

* Lead and participate in project meetings, both internally and with clients.

* Prepare subcontractor tender packages; evaluate and report on returns.

* Ensure H&S compliance across all sites, in line with current legislation and internal standards.

* Collaborate with the QS and design team on cost planning and value engineering during pre-construction.

* Represent the company professionally to clients, architects, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

The Right Person Will Have:

* A meticulous, proactive mindset with a strong commercial and contractual grasp.

* Excellent communication and leadership skills, able to motivate teams and manage relationships across all levels.

* Good working knowledge of construction processes and an understanding of the nuances of high-end residential and bespoke projects.

* A practical, common-sense approach with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues quickly.

* The ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on project delivery.

Essential Requirements:

* Proven experience managing construction projects from pre-construction to handover.

* A track record in high-end residential and small-scale commercial sectors.

* Sound understanding of contract administration – particularly JCT contracts.

* Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and Building Regulations.

* IT literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).

* Full UK driving license
