Overview:
An established and forward-thinking Building Services Consultancy based in Kent is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing MEP team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take a lead role on a range of complex projects across sectors including commercial, residential, education, and healthcare.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical building services design and a proven track record of managing projects from concept through to completion. The consultancy offers a supportive, technically driven environment with excellent progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design on a range of building services projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Deliver high-quality design work using relevant software such as Hevacomp, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or IES.
Oversee the preparation of specifications, reports, and drawings.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Attend design and coordination meetings, site inspections, and liaise with contractors as needed.
Maintain awareness of current industry standards, regulations, and innovations.Candidate Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent experience).
Chartered or working toward Chartership with CIBSE or IMechE preferred.
Minimum 5+ years' UK consultancy experience in building services.
Proficient in mechanical design and calculations across HVAC, hot/cold water systems, ventilation, and renewables.
Experience using design software such as Hevacomp, Revit MEP, IES, and AutoCAD.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Full UK driving licence (preferred for site travel).Benefits:
