An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Planner to join a leading housebuilder in the Kent region. Working across multiple large-scale residential developments, the successful candidate will play a critical role in the planning and delivery of projects from pre-construction through to final handover.
Reporting directly to the Construction Director, this is a unique and influential position within the regional construction team. The Planner will oversee and manage the planning process across the full lifecycle of multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met, risks are mitigated, and resources are effectively coordinated.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes for all regional projects
Lead weekly progress reporting and support quarterly re-scheduling activities
Assist in preparing pre-construction programmes and amend as required following client negotiations
Deliver quick-turnaround preliminary programmes to support the development team with cashflow forecasting and ROCE improvement during negotiations with affordable housing providers
Create and manage occupation and exit strategies for each project, including visual time slice planning
Oversee traffic management and site logistics plans
Prepare and update detailed delivery schedules across all live sites
Generate annual forecasts and production reports, including budget vs. actual performance analysis
Calculate and report weekly KPIs to finance and senior divisional management
Support the production of method statements and construction health & safety plans
Collate and distribute site progress reports, ensuring effective communication across departments
Identify procurement risks early to ensure start and completion dates are met
Utilise COINS to load and manage new site programmes and track performance against targets
About You:
Proven experience in construction planning for large residential developments
Essential: Experience using COINS software for programme management and site tracking
Highly proficient in construction planning tools (e.g., Asta Powerproject or equivalent)
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of sequencing, procurement, and programme risk
Effective communicator and collaborator, capable of working across departments and with external partners
Methodical, detail-driven and proactive in driving project success
