HVAC Site Manager
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Site Manager with extensive heavy ductwork and cleanroom HVAC installation experience to manage site-based mechanical works on pharmaceutical and life sciences projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of GMP environments, containment systems, and critical HVAC infrastructure including AHUs, HEPA filtration, and environmental zoning.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all site-based HVAC activities with a focus on heavy ductwork, including large-scale extract/supply systems, fire-rated ductwork, and pressure-controlled environments.
Supervise the installation of cleanroom-grade HVAC systems (ISO 14644/Class (phone number removed) including HEPA filter housings, VAV boxes, and critical airflow balancing.
Coordinate closely with project engineers, QA/QC, commissioning teams, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and ISO standards.
Review and interpret detailed mechanical/HVAC drawings, P&IDs, and cleanroom layouts to ensure accurate and compliant installation.
Manage RAMS, site inductions, tool-box talks, and ensure adherence to strict HSE protocols.
Oversee HVAC commissioning preparation and assist in the delivery of validation documentation (IQ/OQ).
Monitor and report on site progress, subcontractor performance, and material delivery schedules.
Represent the mechanical team in client and main contractor progress meetings.
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years as an HVAC Site Manager or Mechanical Supervisor on pharmaceutical or cleanroom projects.
Deep knowledge of ductwork installation, HVAC containment systems, air balancing, and critical services in GMP environments.
Proven experience managing HVAC contractors on cleanroom builds, including coordination with electrical, BMS, and commissioning teams.
Trade or engineering background in mechanical/HVAC systems.
SMSTS / SSSTS and CSCS (required).
Experience working to strict quality control and documentation procedures typical of pharma/life science projects.
Strong understanding of HVAC commissioning and validation protocols.
Excellent communication, reporting, and leadership skills.
Desirable:
Cleanroom HVAC installation training or experience with biosafety levels (BSL1-BSL3).
Knowledge of HVAC system integration with BMS and EMS platforms.
NEBOSH/IOSH, First Aid, and Fire Marshal qualifications.
Familiarity with digital tools for snagging, QA, or field coordination (e.g., BIM 360, FieldView, SnagR)
